Spring Into Fall With Fit and Flare Printed Dresses

It’s not yet the last day of summer… but it sure feels like it! Brisk weather and calm breezes have me reaching for my favorite fall pieces, which is mine with me — I personally think fall is one of the most romantic seasons. What’s not to love about being able to enjoy a cozy cup of hot chocolate Silk and throwing on a cute cardigan and light scarf?

Today I felt like showcasing one of my favorite silhouettes— the fit and flare dress— as an easy transitional piece that allows you to capture a bit of the essence of breezier weather yet still look cheeky and flirty with a bit of exposed skin. The key is the print, which is easy to dress up or down with the right accessories.

Using a few neutral black pieces, you can really showcase the print of your dress.

Xi’an Famous Foods– My Favorite Cheap, Slightly Dirty Noodle Joint

It’s tough not to succumb to the allure of the hole-in-the-wall: the dank, olfactory-assaulting closet of a low-key gem of a restaurant pretty much dares you to try their food. They almost say to you: “What, are you really that afraid of food poisoning that you aren’t going to try our handmade, tongue-burning, top-yelp rated noodles? Then […]

Bamba – The Perfect Peanut Butter Puffs!

The story of the Bamba puff and me dates back to my first job as a bagel saveur (ie: bagel cutter, spreader, butterer and all-around cafe slave), when my boss’ sister told me about a “delicious Israeli snack you would love.” Our conversation went something like this: Me: I really love Israeli juices. Boss’ Sister: […]

Thái Son Vietnamese – Fresh, Lean and Green!

I’ve hemmed and hawed before about how hard it is to find actual vegan vietnamese fare in NYC, so I’m very excited to announce I’ve discovered yet another VEGAN VIETNAMESE joint! Yes, caps it totally necessary. Located just a few steps from the Roosevelt train station on Queens, Thái Son is totally worth the trip– it’s cheap, […]

Blossom Du Jour – Pardon My French! (Part I)

So, my love affair with everything from the Blossom folks continues (except with Blossom itself, of course) with my discovery of Blossom Du Jour (Midtown West). I had passed it on many a pizza run to the Two Boots nearby, but never actually went in. I’m so glad I finally made time for it! Me […]
