Radion (Amsterdam)

A former dental office, Radion is a multi-purpose space where I discovered some stellar vegan bites.

From their website:

“RADION is located in the former dental centre ACTA, better known as Broedplaats ACTA. In the night, RADION is a club with a 24h license and by day, a Vegan Cafe. We regularly host cultural events in our Expo space and Cafe and are a home base to festivals such as Fringe Festival, Front Row and Brainwash Night.”

I really enjoyed the vibe and the carefully curated menu (overly extensive menus scare me).

The bar area
Classic Burger: 12.50

Their Classic Burger is basically a dressed-up Beyond Burger and it really hit the spot after our long flight. I loved the steak frites, which were perfectly crispy.

Ravioli: 14.50 // fritz-apple: 4.80

I’m a huge lover of Ravioli and this pesto-covered concoction hit the spot. The baby tomatoes were roasted on the vine, giving it a needed sweetness to complement the earthy taste of the pesto. Just wish it was bigger!

Marvelous Mexico City Markets, Street Foods and Etcetera

One of my favorite places to visit when I visit a new place is to explore their open markets. I love the busy-ness, the smells (not so much the animal ones but it is what it is), the sounds, the visuals and, most of all, the new flavors of foods I wouldn’t have access to […]

Forever Vegano

It’s true dedication to name your restaurant “Forever Vegan,” which in my book gets them top props, forever. Their food isn’t too shabby either (actually, it’s downright delicious!!). Located in the snazzy Roma Norte neighborhood of Mexico City, Forever Vegano has a boho-psychadelic-fancy vibe that lends itself perfectly to a date, casual brunch or, just […]

Mi Dulce Jacalito

Probably my favorite (actually, I can definitively say it is my favorite) aspect of traveling is discovering small vegan businesses and enjoying their food & hospitality. Such was the case with Mi Dulce Jacalito (My Sweet Little Hut). The owner served us himself and was super-friendly and sweet. He told us about how he got […]

Fantasia, Plantasia

Zen vibes and trendy plates are what Plantasia is all about. This spot can be described as “upscale casual“ with a palm fronded, Monstera-flocked stone Buddha as the restaurant’s unofficial mascot. Dimly ensconced overhead mood lighting and an atmospheric softcore electronica themed playlist. It was honestly the nicest restaurant ambience-wise that we visited. I will […]
